Do you often find yourself doodling, drawing and painting and wish to make it a career? Do you love making graphics for friends’ projects or for your own projects? Wouldn’t it be nice if you could do what you love most (drawing) for a living?
Could you imagine the satisfaction that would come with travelling the world, earning a competitive salary, and benefits? Consider an illustration career in the military and you won’t need to imagine it anymore!
Drawing Your Future
When you enter the
Navy, you’ll start out in basic training where you’ll learn to be a sailor. You will then begin your advanced training where you’ll learn all about different drawing techniques, take color theory classes and even learn how to make designs solely on the computer. Your work could appear in the Navy magazine, in a Pentagon presentation or
even as a national advertisement for the Navy.

A Step Above the Rest
After your discharge from the Navy, you’ll be ready to take on the world of graphic design, whether you choose to work as a cartoonist, illustrator for children’s books or comic books or at an advertising firm. If you’d rather go to college, the
US Military will provide you with credit for your time served so that you’ll already have a head start on your college career.
