The Navy SEALs Assessment Eliminates All But The Best

Acceptance into the elite Navy SEALS training program depends largely upon your level of physical fitness and your determination to excel. The Physical Screening Test (PST) challenges you to beat the minimum scores and times, and to strive to attain “competitive” scores, for the following events: a 550 yard swim using the breast or side stroke in less than 12:30 minutes, (10:30 minutes), between 42 and 79 push-ups in 2:00 minutes, 50-79 sit-ups in 2:00 minutes, 6-11 dead hang pull-ups and a 1.5 mile run in boots and trousers in under 11:30 (10:20 being considered competitive). There are no exceptions to these minimum scores.

The Navy SEALS training program is one of the most challenging that the military has to offer. It starts with 4-12 weeks of Naval Special Warfare Preparatory School, followed by 3 weeks of Indoctrination and 24 weeks of Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/S). Of the young men who have approached a Navy recruiter about becoming a Navy SEAL candidate, only one-third of them will complete the BUD/S Phase One training, also known as Hell Week. By the time candidates reach the 4-1/2 week parachute training and the 16 week Navy SEAL Qualification
Training, fully 70-80% of the candidates will have been eliminated, demonstrating the high level of commitment and dedication found in all Navy SEALS graduates.
Members of the Navy SEALS are trained intensively to recognize the importance of physical fitness and teamwork. Without strong leaders and strong teams, the Navy SEALS could never accomplish the amazing things that they do. If you have what it takes, then the Navy SEALS training program can make you into everything you ever dreamed of and much, much more.

32 years of age and angry that I can’t do this! Two time state champion wrestler and hell week sounds no fun. But maybe the old gut can give a little cheer to hard work! Its what we do.
